Looking for a MuMu Player Alternative on Mac? Try SiliconPlay
MuMu Player Pro for Mac is a solid, polished option. It translates games’ OpenGL ES to Metal, and it supports multi-instance. It is paid after a trial.
SiliconPlay is free. It runs Android 16 with the official Android Emulator, Apple’s Hypervisor framework, and Metal. It runs on Apple Silicon from M1 to M5 and newer chips.
It has a keyboard and gamepad overlay, and you can remap the controls. Root is optional and off by default. Turn it on if you need it to test an APK. There are no kernel extensions and no background services.
I build SiliconPlay on my own. Feedback is what I have to go on.
Where MuMu may still win
MuMu may still be the better fit if you want the polish, multi-instance, or game presets. SiliconPlay does not have those.
Other options
BlueStacks Air is another Android emulator for Apple Silicon. The Android Studio emulator is free and better when you want a full development setup, but it is heavy. UTM is free and has no 3D acceleration, so it is not for games.
Try it
Download the DMG, drag it to Applications, and open it.
